1. How do I register my child for Kaleidoscope Afterschool Program?

Contact the Kaleidoscope Site Coordinator at your school or your area CE Director or complete the Kaleidoscope Registration Form.

2. Are Kaleidoscope Programs open when schools are closed for teacher workdays and holidays?

Programs are open on all days when school offices are open. Open locations will vary depending on demand for program. Contact the Kaleidoscope Site Coordinator at your school or your area CE Director for a listing of dates of program operation or view the CCSD Academic Calendar.

1. How do I read course offerings?

The beginning class date is listed first, followed by the day of the week the classes is offered. The number of weeks the class is held is listed next, followed by the time of the class.The fee for Charleston County residents is listed next, followed by the fee for non-residents.

2. How do I pay for a class?

You can pay by credit card, check or cash. Payment can be made online with credit card, you may mail in or bring payment/registration by Community Education office as well, or call your local CE Director to phone in your registration. Contact a CE Site Director

3. Where are classes held?

Community Education classes are mainly held during the evening hours at schools in your area. In some cases, classes are located at local businesses.

4. How do I find my class the first night?

Upon arrival, proceed through the main entranceway of the school. Class locations,room numbers, and other pertinent information will be posted in the main lobby.

5. Do you offer discounts for senior citizens?

The Gold Card Club card is available to all Charleston County residents ages 60 and over. The card will allow you to participate in classes for 20% off the published class fee, if discount is applicable to that particular class.

6. When are classes offered?

Classes are offered three times a year, Fall (starting in September), Winter (starting in January), and Spring (starting end of March).

7. Will I receive class confirmation?

By registering on-line, you will receive notification on the status of your class via email. Our staff will only contact you should your class be cancelled or postponed.

8. What if I want to take classes at different Community School locations?

You're welcome to take classes through multiple Community Education sites, however you must register at each Community School separately.

9. What if I want to register more than one person for a class?

Our registration procedure allows you to register more than one person for the same class on-line.

10. What is your class cancellation policy?

All classes are required to have a minimum number of participants. Should a class be cancelled due to low enrollment or other extenuating circumstances, you will receive a credit to your account or refund of payment.

11. What is your refund policy?

A refund/credit of fees is automatic when a class is filled or canceled. Requests for refunds for personal reasons must be submitted in writing to the Community Education Director, prior to the second class meeting.

12. I am interested in volunteering or teaching a class. What should I do?
