In a joint effort with the Charleston County School District, CCPRC provides meals to all children 18 years old or younger without charge through the Summer Food Service Program. The Summer Food Service Program was established in 1975 to ensure that low-income children continue to receive nutritious meals when school is not in session.
Funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Summer Food Service Program is administered locally in schools, churches, and community centers. CCPRC has supported this program for over 20 years, providing thousands of lunches to local children over the summer months.
