Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission now encouraging PAYS program in its rural areas:

As a comprehensive organization that offers many recreation programs, the Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission is always seeking ways to improve itself. Recently, it turned to the Parents Association for Youth Sports (PAYS) for a little help. Although it does not require it, the Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission now encourages the program and offers PAYS training to parents of children involved in youth sports through Charleston County’s rural recreation programs in  McClellanville, St Johns Island and Hollywood. Lynn Brown from Johns Island, S.C., named Parents Association for Youth Sports Parent of the Year.

 

 Lynn Brown never expected to be rewarded for what she views as basic duty to her children – but that doesn’t mean she isn’t grateful.Brown, the 2006 Parents Association for Youth Sports (PAYS) Parent of the Year, said she was surprised and pleased to capture the honor. “This means that I am truly appreciated for my efforts, and I feel very blessed and honored,” she said. “But I feel that it is my responsibility to be active with my kids, and I would not have it any other way.” Click  here for details...
